Quand on se promène en forêt et qu’on prend le temps d’observer ce qui nous entoure, on finit toujours par reconnaître des traits humains dans les courbes des branches ou dans les plis de l’écorce d’une vieille souche. Il est facile d’imaginer une vie mi-humaine, mi-végétale, une vie étrange, tranquille mais un peu inquiétante...

When you take a walk in the forest and take time to look around you, you’ll see human features hidden in the curve of some branch or in the folds of the bark of an old tree stump. It’s easy to imagine a life half human, half plant, a strange, quiet, but somehow disturbing life form…

Un de ceux-là / One of these

 Voilà un certain temps que je n’ai donné signe de vie sur ce blog. J’ai travaillé sur les derniers détails de mon livre et sur la création d’un nouveau personnage.

Ce mois-ci encore, je participe au thème du mois du forum de John Howe. Le thème en est « Mirror Mirror ». Comme pour de nombreuses personnes, le miroir évoque chez moi les aventures d’Alice ou encore le miroir de la méchante reine des contes de notre enfance.

Que voyons-nous dans un miroir ? Le reflet de la réalité ou celui de nos fantasmes ?

It’s been a long time since I posted anything on my blog. I worked on the last details of my book and on the creation of a new character.

This month again I take part in the month theme of John Howe’s forum. The theme is “Mirror Mirror”. Like a lot of people, mirror reminds me of Alice’s adventures or of the Queen of the fairy tales of our childhood.

What do we see in the mirror? Is it the reflection of reality or that of our fantasy?

Ecureuil / Squirrel

Encore un petit bout d’illustration pour ce livre qui se termine doucement. Finalement après bien des semaines douloureuses j’arrive enfin au bout. Il me reste à mettre en couleur la couverture, finaliser l’une ou l’autre des illustrations et évidemment terminer d’écrire le texte. Et puis peut-être je rajouterai un second écureuil…

And another illustration from that book that slowly comes to its end. Finally after painful weeks, I see the end of it. I have to colour the cover illustration, finish one or the other drawing and of course I have to finish the text. And then perhaps I add a second squirrel…

Tea Time

L’autre jour je regardais pensivement ma théière posée sur la table et soudain je l’ai vue ! Elle était là avec sa longue natte et son collant rayé à humer le parfum du thé. Une petite elfe. C’était comme une porte qui s’ouvrait sur un nouvel univers. Voilà sans doute un nouveau personnage pour une nouvelle histoire…

The other day,  I was idly watching my tea pot and suddenly I saw her! She was there with her long braid and her stripped tights, smelling the perfume of the tea. A small elf. It was like a door opening on a new universe. She’s certainly a new character for a new story…

Après la pluie / After the rain

Après des mois de panne j’ai finalement réussi à avancer un peu sur mon projet de livre. Voici un petit aperçu.

After being stuck for months, I was finally able to make some progress with my book project. Here is a small insight.
